SPECIALTY-SPECIFIC CHALLENGES

Every specialty has its own denial patterns

Generalist billers miss these. Specialty-trained coders catch them before submission.

Orthopedics and surgical specialties
Modifier misuse (59, 51, 25) is the single biggest cause of denials we see in orthopedic and surgical billing. Bundling rules also change frequently and are easy to miss without specialty-specific training.
Behavioral health
Session-length coding, prior authorization requirements, and parity law compliance make behavioral health one of the most denial-prone specialties. Our coders track payer-specific behavioral health policies separately from standard rules.
Primary care and family medicine
High patient volume means high claim volume — small per-claim errors compound quickly. We optimize for speed and accuracy at scale rather than one-off review.
Diagnostic specialties (radiology, pathology, lab)
Correct use of technical vs. professional component modifiers, and accurate ordering-provider documentation, are the most common failure points we correct for diagnostic practices.
